Felix and Fingers is lucky enough to be a national company.  Having performed dueling piano shows from coast to coast, Hewlett Packard was the first to bring us to New Mexico.  Having it’s head quarters in Albuquerque, HP needed entertainment for a vendor event it was hosting at the Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho NM.  Dave and I were excited to rock this party!

Why Dueling Pianos?

And why bring two guys from Chicago all the way to New Mexico?  Simple answer: F&F is dueling pianos to the next level of entertainment and interaction.  Though there are dueling piano bars in almost every large American city, these players specialize in bar crowds catering to college kids and bachelorette parties.  But for dueling pianos worthy of HP, they saw the difference that a dedicated corporate dueling show brings to an event.

Santa Ana Star Center

We had a blast at this venue.  Being in a huge arena, there was tons of space.  The arena floor was set up with casino tables along with couches and lounge furniture where people would sit and watch the show.  Being in these large venues is always a treat because you’re always only limited by your creativity.  Any thing you can think of is doable because there’s so much space, so it always inspires a unique show.

HP put us up at the Tamaya Resort and Spa for the night, which was amazing.  Dave and I spent a lot of time walking the grounds, riding bikes along the trails, or even just hanging at the pool.  The resort is gorgeous, and the tequila flight we ordered after the show really helped us settle in to the non-Chicago atmosphere.  Having never been to New Mexico, this was a great way to get acquainted.

And the Flight…

Every part of this booking was great…until it came time to leave.  Our Wednesday booking meant we’d fly out Thursday morning…if only our flight didn’t get canceled.  Having a wedding scheduled for Friday, it was slightly important that we remedy the situation asap.

Luckily, we were able to get on a flight the next day, and with some help from our other company members setting up our wedding booking, we were able to arrive to the event on time.  This is actually one of the benefits to booking with F&F, we have a team of players.  As opposed to smaller companies, or “companies” who simply use free agents to fill in bookings, F&F has a dedicated team of performers who cover for each other as needed.  Should someone get sick, hurt, miss a flight, etc, we have extra players inside of the company who can fill in.  This type of insurance is unusual in dueling pianos and a big part of the reason Felix and Fingers is the highest reviewed dueling show in the country.
