Themed weddings are an awesome way to create an occasion reflecting your hobbies and interests. Hence, the Grand River Center wedding event was created to match Katie and Kevin’s special day. The Grand River Center wedding event was themed on all things Star Wars and Game of Thrones. Representing Felix and Fingers for this event were Robert Deason and Michael Sherman. Just from looking around, our guys knew everyone was going to have a BLAST.
The Grand River Center has some spectacular views. Located on the banks of the Mississippi River, this stunning structure has an undulating roof line that reflects the surrounding river. Furthermore, this venue boasts a 12,000 sq foot Grand Ballroom offering 16 ft high ceiling and pendant bowl chandeliers. If you would like a tour of the Grand River Center please click here.
Katie and Kevin took the most meaningful elements of their themed wedding and incorporated them everywhere! Not only were the table settings and walls decorated with light sabers, but a Dr. Who TARDIS photo booth had guests taking home memorable photographs. To complete the wedding theme, our client requested we play music from all things Star Wars, Game of Thrones and more. We had a TON of fun playing The Imperial March composed by John Williams as the bride and groom made their grand entrance.
Shortly after wedding party announcements, our performers provided the perfect cocktail hour to dinner bridge. Robert and Mike played songs such as Latch by Sam Smith and a Game of Thrones favorite The Gift by Ramin Djawadi. What is more, guests enjoyed endless drinks and delicious appetizers on the Grand Ballroom patio. It’s no wonder this was called happy hour!
Sing-Alongs and Happy Feet
Want to impress your guests with a menu like no other? The Grand River Center catering team provided an exclusive and delicious buffet. Hence, the food choices were OUTSTANDING. As a matter of fact, this conference center made an AMAZING Chicken Cordon Bleu like no other! After a mouthwatering meal, the lovebirds requested Till There Was You from The Music Man for their first dance. This is one of our FAVORITE love songs!
The Grand River Center wedding event was the perfect youngsters party. There were a TON of kids at this wedding, so in the middle of our set, we Dj’d some fun dance songs for the wee ones. Fun sing-along songs such as Baby Shark, Old Town Road and even the Cupid Shuffle made sure all the kids had a GRAND time! Furthermore, all the kids went wild when our performers kicked into the Cha-Cha Slide and The Chicken Dance. It was awesome seeing everyone with happy feet.
Felix and Fingers kept the dance floor packed all night long with songs from the 70’s and 80’s. We made sure everyone was happy and had a turn showing off their great moves. Songs such as More Than a Feeling by Boston and Hungry Like the Wolf by Duran Duran were popular indeed. Who can resist a circle of love around the lovebirds? Our performers gathered everyone around Katie and Kevin in a big circle to sing Piano Man by Billy Joel. It made us happy seeing friends and family showering the newlyweds with LOVE.
