Bride and Groom on Catwalk for ceremony

Industrial Arts in Chicago, IL is by far one of the coolest and most unique new event venues I have ever visited.  The Bride and Groom really found a gem when they looked at this place for their wedding ceremony and reception.  This evening was a pure example of how professionalism trumps all.  When the weather doesn’t want to cooperate with the ceremony, and the pictures take a little longer to capture, what is a newlywed couple to do?  Leave it to Felix & Fingers, that’s what.  We are here to make sure every part of your evening goes smoothly so you can focus on what’s most important; loving each other and entertaining your guests!  Luckily we were able to fit everyone inside the lofted space for the ceremony when the rain came blowing in.  It actually turned out pretty neat with the bridal party up on the catwalks with the way the venue staff prepared the lighting and scenery in a flash.  Alas, the bride & groom wouldn’t take my suggestion of “I’m Too Sexy” for their introduction music across the catwalks.  In hindsight, it was probably the right decision. 🙂  With us, it’s all about flexibility. If you need more time for photos, no worries. Need to add a couple extra speeches? No problem.  We have coordinated hundreds of weddings and we just how to tailor each detail to what you need at the present moment.

Intimacy of Industrial Arts

This particular venue is perfectly suited for parties of less than 100. Any bigger and it would really start to feel crowded in there! The newlyweds and their crowd wanted a more “traditional” dueling pianos style show, so that’s exactly what we gave them.  We still took everyone’s requests and got some people to dance, but they had a blast sitting back and listening to Greg P and me cracking jokes and poking fun at them in-between songs. In a more intimate space such as the one at Industrial Arts, this approach was better suited and very well received. And even though there were spouts of rain here and there, people still found themselves heading outside for some fresh air, which was another perfect opportunity for us to setup a wireless speaker outside.  Everything we played inside could be heard out in the courtyard with no loss in volume or quality. Amy and Josiah were so impressed that we pulled this off as it was one of their requested add-on’s.

The owner of  the Industrial Arts loft, Nicholas, actually lives on site, which you would never notice.  He was super helpful in helping us to get our gear in and out of his space, as well as catering to any other needs we or the Bride & Groom had throughout the night.  Nicholas is one of the nicest venue owners I’ve met throughout my career and Felix & Fingers would be more than happy to join forces again anytime. After all, this is Chicago we’re talking about, one of the greatest cities on Earth.  To learn more about booking an event or a stay here, check out their reservation page. They’ve got an awesome open kitchen that doubles as a small bar that you HAVE to check out for yourself.
