Felix and Fingers performed a successful Dueling Pianos for a Cure, Saint Jude Run Fundraiser.  Our very own Sam Baker and Jennifer Lee Knuth knocked it out of the park!  This amazing duo sang and played their hearts out to a large group of fun loving guests.   Felix and Fingers raised an incredible amount of money for a great cause.

Saint Jude Run Fundraiser Lasalle

Saint Jude Run FundraiserFelix and Fingers enjoyed returning a second year to perform at the Saint Jude Run fundraiser.  We love seeing familiar faces and it’s great to have a mental rundown of how the evening will transpire.  Felix and Fingers have found it beneficial hiring the same entertainment group each year in a fundraising situation.  For example, we get a chance to know our clients, their friends and we can all work together raising money for an important cause.

On August 3rd participants will run relay-style from Peru to Peoria, home of the Jim and Trudy Maloof St. Jude Midwest Affiliate Clinic. More importantly, all of the proceeds from the Saint Jude Run fundraiser were donated to patient’s and their families.  Furthermore, the La Salle-Peru area Saint Jude Runners group had raised these amazing proceeds.  If you are interested in donating toward the Saint Jude Lasalle/Peru to Peoria Run on August 3, 2019 please click here.

Guests arrived at the Senica Oak Ridge Golf Club in Lasalle, Illinois for the Saint Jude Run Fundraiser.  Not only is this golf club an incredible venue located on 110-acres of manicured rolling fairways, but the staff is amazing.  In all honesty, the event manager (Tammy) and her staff are always kind and courteous to our players.  Senica’s staff are always checking on our needs, even volunteering to load us out at the end of our show.  As much as we inform them we can handle it, they insist.  What a helpful gesture!  If you would like to book your next event at Senica’s Oak Ridge Golf Club please click here.

Fun with Fundraisers

St. Jude Run FundraiserSenica’s Oak Ridge restaurant provided appetizers, a chef inspired dinner and an outstanding dessert table during the Saint Jude Run fundraiser.  To begin with, Sam and Jennifer played a mix of instrumental jazz during cocktail hour.  It was great to see couples dancing on the floor to West End Blues by Louis Armstrong and The Sidewinder by Lee Morgan.  Dinner was a first class experience.  Guests enjoyed the restaurant’s famous Chicken Oscar along with bacon infused, Alfredo topped, spaghetti Carbonara.  Moreover, a decadent New York Style cheesecake wickedly beckoned stuffed guests to the dessert table.  If you would like to check out Senica’s Oak Ridge restaurant please click here.

To start with, a guest named Matt came up and handed Jennifer $50.00 to play I Like Big Butts by Sir Mix-A-Lot.  We stopped our show announcing how much he paid and then asked Matt if he knew the rules about requesting this song.  Matt sat quietly which obviously meant no.  Sam and Jennifer informed nervous Matt that anyone requesting this song is required to perform it!  Matt started sweating, so we decided to raise the stakes along with the fundraising.  Sam and Jennifer challenged the audience to bring up another $50.00 encouraging Matt to perform.  It worked!

Felix and Fingers think the coolest part of a fundraiser is deciding how much each of the “big dueling songs” cost.  With our goal to beat last year’s Saint Jude Run fundraiser (of $1,500.00) we put a $500 tag on ANY Eagles song.  Jennifer and Sam underestimated this crowd by thinking another $500 request would never be achieved.  Life in the Fast Lane by the Eagles was performed almost immediately.  Sam and Jennifer were shocked.  Towards the end of the night Jennifer played The Devil Went Down to Georgia by the Charlie Daniels Band.  This well known song brought in $1,000.00…WOW!

Above all, at the end of the Saint Jude Run fundraiser, our performers frantically counted their tip money so they could announce how much they made at this event.  We proudly grabbed the mic and announced that together, we had raised over $3,300.00!  That felt better than any tips we have ever received.  Giving back such an impressive amount felt incredible.
