In the heart of the French Quarter in New Orleans, Louisiana, and right on the Mississippi River, we found ourselves at the great restaurant of Pat O’Brien’s. Felix and Fingers had the opportunity to perform for a Pat O’Brien’s Wedding on the river to celebrate the marriage of Amber and Valerie. We enjoyed the opportunity to be in such a lively place to perform for this celebration.
Pat O’Brien’s Wedding on the River
This venue fit perfectly for this style of ceremony and reception. The brick walls, the wood walls, and wood floor all added to the charm of this venue. One area with tables looked almost like something one could find at a French café. This was a traditional New Orleans ceremony. Very casual, and set up like a big party, as opposed to a formal sit down reception. We had great food and service there, as well as amazing locally made lemon cupcakes instead of cake!
Music and Dancing
When the brides first entered the reception hall, they walked into a live version of “Uptown Funk” played by myself and Robert. The crowd loved it and went absolutely nuts. What a way to start the evening! Before guests could join the dance floor, both of the brides’ fathers joined them on the dance floor for a joint father-daughter dance. What a moment to capture the love between both families and their daughters.
Later, we had several fun requests for songs from artists like Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande to old classics from Earth, Wind, and Fire and Elvis Presley. During one of the songs, a group started a line dance and by the end of the song nearly the entire crowd caught on and did the line dance along with the original group. To end the night, the brides requested “Let It Go” from Frozen and it brought the house down! We loved taking part this special day and helping create lifelong memories for these friends and families.
