Felix and Fingers packed up and drove out to Cedar Falls, IA for the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center Fundraiser. We put the FUN in fundraisers!  We were excited to hear EPI’s More Than You See charity event was SOLD OUT because it was held for individuals with special needs.  A huge crowd showed up to support our show and raise funds for an awesome group of people!

Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center Fundraiser Iowa

Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center FundraiserOur performer for the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center fundraiser was Mike Potts.  Our client, Exceptional Persons, Inc. is a non-profit, private and charitable organization focused on making the world a better place for people with disabilities.  In fact, EPI hired us to help raise money so they can continue to nurture growth and create job opportunities for the disabled community.  All the proceeds from the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center fundraiser went to foster active community participation.  If you would like to volunteer at or donate to Exceptional Persons, Inc please click here.

To begin with, the More Than You See charity event had incredible acoustics due to high ceilings and glass windows.  There was no specific dance floor but that didn’t stop the crowd from showing off great moves.  During cocktail hour, Mike requested $200 for the song 1999 by the King of Purple…Prince.  Not only did the audience pay the $200 but they also donated an additional $100 to hear Little Red Corvette by Prince!  If you would like to hold your next event at the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center please click here.

Balcony Performance

The Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center Fundraiser was a solo show with Mike Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center Fundraisermaking sure the crowd was happy.  There was a balcony in the lobby and a few guests were calling out requests for our performer to play.  Mike happily obliged and kicked into Baby Got Back by Sir-Mix-A-Lot while the balcony crowd put on quite a performance.  Guests eventually sat down to enjoy a family style dinner of roasted chicken, a home style pot roast and a variety of side dishes.  We think there was a classical concert in the room behind us as Gustav Mahler’s Adagietto was echoing in the lobby.

One of the highlights of the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center Fundraiser was alumni singing the UNI fight song.  We asked for $100 to play the song and the audience happily paid for it.  They had the time of their lives proudly belting out the song. Furthermore, Mike had the crowd on their feet and dancing like wild to Thunderstruck by AC/DC.  Our client had a wonderful idea to play the Envelope Game. Guests placed between $1 and $20 in the envelopes, wrote their names on them and a winner was chosen receiving 10X the amount in the envelope (maximum $200).  In all honesty, it was awesome to see the lucky winner donate the $200 he won towards the fundraiser!
