The Crowne Plaza in Springfield, Illinois was a beautiful backdrop for the Illinois Housing Association Party. Felix and Fingers loved helping this organization celebrate the end of their yearly conference.
Illinois Housing Association Party
The theme for the Illinois Housing Association Party was the Roaring Twenties and the Crowne Plaza in Springfield did an awesome job with it too. They set the bar to look like it was a prohibition era speakeasy which went right along with the theme. If you are ever in the Illinois State Capital, be sure to try out this venue. We found the catering to be delicious and the decor is very pleasing indeed. In addition, the staff was super helpful and friendly. Perhaps the roaring twenties atmosphere put everyone in a

Huge Themed Success
We couldn’t get over the crowd’s commitment to the theme. The flapper dresses and zoot suits that we saw were out of this world. It seemed everyone was buying in to make this celebration a success. We tried to play a couple of songs from the era and while they were a hit, it was country music that this crowd wanted. We went old school country with Hank Williams’ Hey Good Lookin’ and Tanya Tucker’s Delta Dawn. They went crazy to Hank Williams Jr’s Family Tradition. We loved seeing the romantic couples swaying to Tennessee Whiskey by Chris Stapleton and Lee Greenwood’s Dixie Road had everyone out on the dance floor. All in all, a very successful night at the Illinois Housing Association Party.
