Do we have a special occasion for you to read about! The Giffords Kitchen wedding event brought together a mixed cultural wedding fusing Arabic and American traditions. Representing Felix and Fingers for this special occasion were our very own Jennifer Lee Knuth and Sam Baker. Our performers were SO EXCITED to perform at Giffords Kitchen and Social, located in downtown Elgin, Illinois. This super cool venue is roughly 35 miles northwest of Chicago and lies along the scenic Fox River. Felix and Fingers wish Foad and Jamie a lifetime of love and happiness!
Giffords Kitchen Wedding Event Elgin Illinois
To start with, the actual name of this amazing venue, Giffords Kitchen and Social, acknowledges the city of Elgin’s founders Hezekiah and James Gifford. In 1835, these two brothers departed New York and settled in Elgin, Illinois in search of new land. At Giffords restaurant you will find a fusion of cuisine which integrates flavors from America’s melting pot. Even more, there is an impressive venue space on the second floor for trendy rustic weddings or larger social gatherings. In fact, your guests will enjoy their own private bar and a large balcony overlooks a sparkling pond. The Giffords Kitchen wedding event was a beautiful combination/integration of the bride and groom’s cultural backgrounds. Jamie (the bride) photographed a wedding we performed at earlier in the year. We are thrilled to say she did not hesitate to hire us after seeing our #1 online rated dueling piano show!
Foad and Jamie’s ceremony was simply breathtaking. For example, we played a variety instrumental music as the bride and groom exchanged vows on the outdoor balcony. There was also a stunning floral backdrop that was moved indoors after the ceremony complimenting the room in a spectacular way. A special moment at the ceremony was Jamie and Foad’s best friend who was the officiant as well as a bridesmaid. After finding out this was actually her first wedding officiated, we felt she was a PRO!
A Chic and Multicultural All Night Party
While their wedding was fairly traditional, Jamie and Foad wanted to honor both of their cultural backgrounds in their own unique ways. Cocktail hour was kept standard with flowing champagne and delicious hors d’oeuvres. While our audience mix and mingled, we played songs such as How Sweet it Is by Marvin Gaye. Also, requests brought to our pianos had guests dancing to Sweetest Thing by U2 and Suds in the Bucket by Sara Evans. Oh, and by the way, they served some of THE BEST Mediterranean hummus we have ever tasted! If you’re feeling thirsty, make sure to try one of Gifford’s signature cocktails, the Cucumber Basil Press. It’s out of this world!
Felix and Fingers would like you to know the Giffords Kitchen wedding event was a non-stop party. For example, the bride’s sister (Trinity) is a professional dancer. Therefore, she performed a solo dance piece to the song Lovely by Billie Eilish. Additionally, Gifford’s kitchen staff pulled off an amazing dinner. Not only was the service was SPOT ON, but the boneless rib-eye steak was cooked to PERFECTION. During dinner, our performers kept the romantic atmosphere with songs such as I’m Yours by Jason Mraz and All of Me by John Legend. We LOVED seeing everyone have a GREAT time!
Above all, Jamie and Foad used the song Prince Ali from Aladdin for the garter toss. Felix and Fingers had a TON of FUN playing this song and watching the crowd go wild as the garter was tossed. Foad is of Arabian descent so this moment was actually SUPER CUTE! Jennifer and Sam kept the dance floor PACKED all night long at the Gifford Kitchen wedding event. We loved the fact there were non-stop dancers at this party. TONS of guests never left the dance floor. When we kicked into 90’s music such as It’s On by Flowered Up, EVERYONE jumped on the floor and did their thing!

Who can resist a circle of love around the bride and groom to the song Piano Man by Billy Joel? Our performers had everyone surround the lovebirds to sing, dance and support this amazing couples love. Our performers made sure everyone left happy from the Giffords Kitchen wedding event.
