Felix and Fingers recently dueled at a Disotto Italian Restaurant Bat Mitzvah. This beautifully authentic restaurant is located in Highwood, IL. We had the honor of playing in a cozy room for the young woman and her friends. For more information on the venue, please click here.
Disotto Italian Restaurant Bat Mitzvah
When guests arrived, the Disotto staff greeted them at the door and lead them to the reserved room. Made of brick, including the domed ceiling, the entire room was adorned with plush booths and elegant tables. Large wine glasses and antique plates were placed to mark each guests’ seat. Before dinner was served, staff filled the wine glasses with sparkling grape juice for the toast to our birthday girl. Each guest chose from three options for their dinner, and everything was delicious. We even overheard one boy say, “This is the best spaghetti I’ve ever tasted! And I’m Italian, so I would know.” We all had a good laugh at that.
Cheers to Best Friend Speeches
Once dinner was finished, the birthday girl announced that they had a doughnut bar for dessert. The deafening cheers echoed around the room. We played while guests ate their doughnuts and chatted. After everyone had had their fill of dessert, the birthday girl’s closest friends each stood up and gave individual speeches written just for her special day.
When the speeches were over, the birthday girl’s mother hosted a few games for the kids, including a “who knows her best” game and a cowbell competition. Many prizes were given away: gift cards to various places, candy and extra doughnuts. So many prizes were left over that the mother put all extras on our pianos for the kids to grab as they requested songs. To end the night, one of the birthday girl’s best friends asked us to play a few Hamilton songs, and the entire party turned into a Hamilton sing along! We had a fabulous time playing at this Bat Mitzvah and hope to do one again soon.
