Emma and Matthew were searching for a unique venue and they came across a hidden gem in Lake Barrington, Illinois. Hence, the Onion Pub wedding event! It was no surprise to Felix and Fingers they chose a venue that is amazing in every possible way. Our performers for the Onion Pub wedding event were T. Duncan Parker and Michael Sherman. These guys are no strangers to The Onion Pub and Brewery. With this in mind, our performers looked forward to delicious food and incredible surroundings. We realize our performers play a critical role on your special day. So when Emma and Matthew asked us to perform at their ceremony, we couldn’t be happier! Our performers knew exactly how much wiggle time to throw in for an off-site ceremony. With regards to wiggle room, it allowed everyone to breath and absorb the minutes before the ceremony. To begin with, Emma provided a ceremony playlist letting us choose suggested songs at our discretion. We played Bridal Chorus by Wagner for the bridal procession and with a glint in our eyes, sent the bride and groom off with Signed, Sealed, Delivered by Stevie Wonder.
A Wild and Crazy Crowd
They warned us, but it got wild. However, this was an amazing group of party people. Cocktail hour had everyone enjoying our awesome setup. We were able to get sound EVERYWHERE with our wireless speaker system! It wasn’t long before the dance floor was packed with songs such as Giant Steps by Buddy Rich and Stuck Like Glue by Sugarland. Did we mention The Onion Pub and Brewery has amazing food? Properly named, the Bavarian Beast was a hit with the crowd. Who could resist a HUGE, warm Bavarian soft pretzel served with house made beer cheese dip and spicy Chipotle ranch? Not us!!!
First dances, toasts and speeches were filled with laughter, love and joy. In all honesty, the best man’s speech was one of the funniest ones we have ever heard! And if we weren’t properly stuffed from the HUGE Bavarian pretzel, a half pound Drago Burger found it’s way into our No Vacancy system during dinner.
In addition to a wild party, guests were giving us great requests, and were were having a BLAST playing them. TONS of 90’s and 2000 music which we LOVE! Say My Name by Destiny’s Child and A Deeper Love by Aretha Franklin were a HIT with this crowd! Above all there was a photo booth set up for guests and it got a little nuts. We are pretty sure there were a few guests who won’t remember the booth. Best craziest thing ever? Everyone loved icing each other with Smirnoff Ice drinks. As a matter of fact, they hid them under their head table napkins!
