Our Citrus Club Celebration of Life was a night of dancing, laughter, tears, and healing. This was a night to celebrate the life of Gigi, a woman with many wonderful friends and family members. She must have been a truly beautiful soul as this group was so full of love for her and her great life.

The Citrus Club in Orlando, Florida was the location of this blessed event. They did a phenomenal job taking care of everyone, including us. This was a difficult task as we went from sad to happy and back and forth a few times. Joyful memories combined with heartbreaking loss can make for some ups and downs in your guests but this crew knew how to handle it all with professionalism and ease. It was a classy and exceptional venue to send dear Gigi off with love. If you have an interest in a social/business club such as this, please click here to find out more about The Citrus Club.

Going Out in Style and Laughter (and a few tears)

As we began to set up our equipment, we noticed the sun shining its light on a beautiful picture of Gigi. It seemed to be a sign that this was going to be a special night in honor of a special lady and it was. We played a recording of Unwritten by Natasha Bettingfield as the guests entered and noticed the smiles as they walked in singing along. Throughout the evening, we mentioned a few times that we wished we had known Gigi and were repeatedly told that we had missed out because she was Citrus Club Celebration of Life players and guestsuch a wonderful person. She was obviously such a light in everyone’s life. We wanted to do our absolute best to send her off in the most memorable way and honor her memory.

Our evening began with a gentle sing a long, but as the night continued, a dance party ensued. Gigi, we were told, would have loved every single minute. Two of her favorites, Meatloaf’s Paradise by the Dashboard Lights and Love Shack by the B52’s, really had the dance floor hopping. We had our signature last song, but then Gigi’s sister requested Garth Brooks’ The Dance as a special last song for her beloved Gigi. It has to be one of the most happy-tearful memorable last songs we have ever played. What a special ending to one of our most favorite events. Felix and Fingers felt truly honored to be a part of Gigi’s Citrus Club Celebration of Life.
