Duncan performed a live ceremony playing Bridal Chorus by Wagner (often known as Here Comes The Bride) as Ashley made her entrance. Rolling green hills, mature trees and sparkling ponds all provided the perfect backdrop. And for those looking for something a little more different, Now That We Found Love by Heavy D & The Boyz was the PERFECT recessional song. To be honest, ever since Duncan saw Will Smith and Eva Mendes bring it down in the last scene of Hitch, he thinks it’s the perfect exit song!
Felix and Fingers have played at this country club before and looked forward to exquisite catering and exceptional service. There was no surprise when an impressive cheese board was presented for cocktail hour. The baked brie with nuts and honey was indeed amazing! During this time, Duncan performed a lighter fare of music, with mellow songs that set the mood without overshadowing conversation. From legendary classics like Frank Sinatra’s Fly Me To The Moon, to contemporary tunes like Jack Johnson’s Better Together, everyone enjoyed a spin on the floor.
Wedding Party Mayhem
To start with, dinner was delicious and speeches were a hit. As a matter of fact, Ashley’s sister gave a terrific tandem speech. During this time, Duncan played a mix of “something old” and “something new” as requested on the bride and groom’s playlist. Raise Your Glass by P!nk and Isn’t She Wonderful by Stevie Wonder allowed guests to easily communicate while enjoying their mouthwatering prime rib. Our reception crowd loved the 90’s. Duncan kept the floor packed with songs such as What is Love by Haddaway and Poison by Bell Biv Devoe. When the requests for NSync poured in, Duncan gave everyone a workout with a back to back NSync concert. Not only was Here We Go a sing along favorite, but U Drive Me Crazy had the crowd CRAZY! Speaking of crazy, one of the bridesmaids kept ripping pieces of her dress and giving them to guests to tie around their heads. We blame the Rumchata for those silly ideas!
Above all, Duncan had everyone hold hands, making a circle around the bride and groom. Duncan had a blast playing Piano Man by Billy Joel as everyone sang and shared their love with the newlyweds. It was the perfect finish to a successful Kankakee Country Club wedding event!
