International Star Registry Holiday Party Glenview
Our performer for the International Star Registry holiday party was Mike Potts. This guy really knows how to put on a show. Not only did Mike start playing the piano at 4 years old, but he also plays the clarinet and saxophone. Cafe El Tapatio had Mike set up his gig at the back of the restaurant. Actually, this location worked out really well. It’s indeed awesome when clients can find non-traditional venues.
Cafe El Tapatio is a Chicago staple now also located in the North Shore. This restaurant goes above and beyond with a friendly “city feel” environment. Moreover, you won’t find Cafe El Tapatio to be a typical run of the mill Mexican restaurant. For example, this restaurant replaces mainstream Mexican food with extra flavor and heat. The International Star Registry holiday party was an intimate solo show. Our client requested a “Redhead Piano Bar” experience. We could tell Cafe El Tapatio was the perfect location for upbeat music and lively conversation. Initially, Mike played Latin favorites during cocktail hour such as the Tequila Song by The Champs. Guests took a break from signing when a HUGE plate of Quesadillas Don Jose con Chorizo was brought out.
Dinner was exceptionally delicious. If you’ve never tried Pollo en Mole de Reyna, Camarones Monte Alban or Enchiladas Oaxaqueñas we suggest you head out to Cafe El Tapatio. During dinner the crowd sang songs such as Despacito by Louis Fonsi ft. Daddy Yankee and American Pie by Don McLean. Oh, did we mention there was a little competition going on? A beer pong set up on the other side of the room brought a whole new level of party to this crowd!
Even though the night was young, staff brought out BOTTLES of Don Julio 1942 (high-end tequila). Mike knew the International Star Registry holiday party was eventually going to get 85.4 proof wild. Shots at the piano! To tell the truth, after Don Julio met our guests, it got a little crazy. Mike finished his show with everyone, including staff, singing Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. Because of this notably LOUD performance, Mike was sure all of Milwaukee Avenue thought Freddy Mercury was in the house!
In conclusion, Felix and Fingers give Cafe El Tapatio 5 stars for their mouthwatering food and hard-working staff. We were happy to hear everyone at the International Star Registry holiday party had a blast. It was the perfect show.
