Manage Handwrytten Notes

I'm definitely used to playing to older crowds. I was getting far more requests that I've never played than I'm used to at this event, so I had to pivot a lot of requests throughout the night. On the bright side, I definitely got an idea of the next several songs I'll be adding to my rep. Seeing which songs got everybody singing and dancing the most was super helpful in figuring out what I need to be working on next. I also want to keep working on my key drums skills, especially adding some fills/variation to my beats to make it a little fuller and closer to the original tracks.

The transition from ceremony to reception was seamless. Guests walked right next door for an hour of cocktails, and when they returned for dinner their salads had already been served. Converting the space must have taken less than 30 minutes and it looked amazing!

Jack and Diane was a perfect slow-down after several dancing tunes. Everybody was singing along from the dance floor at full volume -- Duncan and I got to just sit back and listen during the chorus!

Pink Pony Club is always a blast. At one point my piano was shaking from everybody jumping on the dance floor!

I just feel it's important to say that Duncan was an incredibly supportive partner throughout the night. Knowing I'm a newer player, he threw some requests my way that he thought I'd know, and he was able to subtly sneak some guidance in during the show. Once the DJ set was going and we had a second to breathe, we went through our requests from the night and he showed me which songs were going to be the biggest hits if I play another wedding/party event. He was a great partner, and I would love to do another gig together if there's an opportunity.
