Felix and Fingers recently dueled for the St. Anthony Mid-Winter Gala held in Pewaukee, WI.The St. Anthony of the Lake Catholic church hosts this fundraiser each year to raise money for their parish. St. Anthony Of The Lake Mid-Winter Gala
St. Anthony of the Lake Catholic church is largely supportive of their community, and it was obvious just how loved the church is by how many people attended and donated to the parish. The main event for this fundraiser was an auction. The hosts and hotel staff did a wonderful job organizing the various items up for auction as well as making sure the guests had everything they needed throughout the night.
The auction kicked off the evening. Some items included VIP concert tickets, cooking classes, sporting events around Pewaukee, and vacations. Throughout the auction, we played background music, complimenting whichever item was up. For example, for the cruise prize, we played the theme for Love Boat. For the cooking class prize, we played Food Glorious Food by Lionel Bart. When the auction concluded, the hosts announced they raised over $50,000 from the auction alone. What a success!
A Singing Father
After the auction, guests were invited to enjoy a buffet dinner, and we began our set. As people ate, they came up and donated to our fund to get Father Tony up on stage to sing. We had a deal with him that if we raised a quick $100, he would sing September by Earth, Wind, & Fire with us. We’re happy to say the donations poured in immediately, and the audience loved hearing him sing.
As the evening came to a close, a lot of guests came up to request 90’s hip hop. Many people stayed later than anticipated just to keep dancing with us! These people were so giving, and we wound up with nearly $600 in tips, which we donated right back to St. Anthony in thanks for a wonderful night. We are thankful to have been a part of this success and to have met such giving and caring people. We wish the parish all the best.
