After setting up our gear, by just looking around, we knew our dueling piano show would rock. To begin with, this hotel clearly has the most professional staff we’ve had the pleasure of working with. Did we mention we performed on the top floor of our Best Western Premier Park Hotel Corporate Event? Holy cow, the views were breathtaking. From one of the windows you can see the state capitol in downtown Madison. Jake and Katrina learned a ton of history and accomplishments about Make-A-Wish Foundation during their show. Above all, the treasurer of this council (Joe Boyle), helped Katrina purchase her home, so they’re friends. Katrina used this moment to exceed those goals!
A Night of Love and Happiness
Our VIP for the night was Fernando, and his Make-A-Wish was an inground pool. How cool is that? In fact, Katrina took this moment and had the crowd direct Joe up on our stage. We couldn’t wait to actually roast him. Katrina and Jake jumped right into performing My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean and had Joe danced to it. Body movements and all. Everyone couldn’t get enough of Joe’s performance. Our goal was to raise $6,000 for Make-A-Wish. Instead, we raised over $8,000!. Hence, this allowed Fernando’s wish of building a pool in his back yard to happen. Everyone was ecstatic!
Song requests started piling up after a few cocktails and boy were they fun. A couple of disco tunes and a few glasses of champagne had the dance floor packed. When Stayin’ Alive by the Bee Gees and Banana Boat Song (Day O) by Harry Belafonte were played, our crowd really got into it!
Above all, there was an incredible recognition ceremony of new staff and board members for the Women’s Council of Realtors. Felix totally supports this amazing organization that empowers women in the industry. Our last song of the evening was Piano Man by Billy Joel. A signature tune of ours getting everyone together in a circle and singing out the door. Best part of our night? When a floss/twerk-off had everyone’s phones out. What a fun way to end a perfect party!
