This sweet sixteen party was at one of our favorite venues, The Baker House in Lake Geneva. It was actually the first place Felix and Fingers ever played, so it’s near to our hearts (and fingers). The staff are always so nice and accommodating. The girl whose party it was was incredibly nice. Her and her mom were there when we arrived. After figuring out the best place for us to set up, we were ready to play!
Once all of the birthday girl’s friends arrived, we stared out with a Victorian Tea style lunch. According to the website, “You’ll enjoy hand selected tea and a selection of savory and sweet delights prepared by their our in house pastry chef. The Victorian dressed staff guides guests through a historic journey sharing the story of this beautifully restored Nationally Registered Historic Property along with with Victorian antidotes of ‘Tea & History.'”
It’s good that we are well versed in new music, since that’s pretty much all the teenagers at this sweet sixteen wanted to hear, but we did everything from Macklemore to Beyonce for them. They definitely knew the classics like “Don’t Stop Believing” as well though. A few of them may have know the words better than I did! They were all in a big circle, singing along all afternoon.
Do People have Sweet Seventeen Parties?
I hope so, but I doubt it. I guess we’ll just need to wait until someone else turns sixteen. If that special someone is you our a family member, get in touch with us today and we’ll tell you how we can make the big day unforgettable!
