This past Saturday, Felix and Fingers played one of our many dueling pianos holiday parties, at the lovely Whispering Springs Golf Club in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin.  It was our first time at the venue, though we’re back for another event next week!  The banquet hall we were in was beautiful, and I know they host a lot of weddings and private parties here.  There was a balcony outside the hall overlooking the golf course, though it didn’t get much use due to the cold weather.  I’m sure it’s wonderful in the summertime.

Mary, the banquet manager at the club, allowed us to pull right up to the banquet hall to load in, so we didn’t have the deal with the cold weather.  She was incredibly accommodating, and Whispering Springs is lucky to have her!  As you can see below, the room was set up with tables on both sides, with a dancing area in the middle.  It was used quite a bit throughout the night.

When the guests arrived, we began our show with some background Christmas music.  Greg and I rotated in and out, so we could take turns eating.  I also wanted to point out that the rib-eye I was served was one of the best meals I’ve ever had a gig.  We took a quick break while some door prizes were given away, and then we kicked it into full gear with Dueling Pianos.

We immediately started getting requests, and were somewhat surprised at a few of them.  We were in a room full of bankers, and some of the first requests were for “Wrecking Ball” by Miley Cyrus and “Bad Romance” by Lady Gaga.  I don’t like to admit it, but those are two of my favorites…

The rest of the night was a great mix of top 40s, classic rock, and country music.  Some of the guests loosened up enough to dance, and we had them all applauding with dropped jaws as we did Eminem’s “The Real Slim Shady” from memory.  We had a great group dancing the “Cupid Shuffle” and “The Electric Slide.”  We closed the evening with everyone in the room singing Don McLean’s “American Pie.”  Everyone had a great time and left laughing.  It was a perfect corporate holiday party.
