Located in Madison, Wisconsin, Emily’s Ten Oaks Ranch is a wonderful farm venue that is great for any special event. On this particular day, Felix and Fingers performed at an Emily’s Ten Oaks Ranch wedding to celebrate the marriage between Kurtis and Alicia. This venue had lots to offer its guests and helped make this day truly special.
Emily’s Ten Oaks Ranch Wedding
This ceremony and reception truly fit the mold of a “barn styled wedding”. The outdoor ceremony, the barn animals, and the reception that they held inside of a hall that looked like a barn. With an outdoor ceremony, there always is a chance it will rain. On this day, it did end up raining, but that didn’t stop these folks from still moving forward with the ceremony because of a fortunate break in the storm. The venue owners walked guests around under umbrellas to make sure they stayed dry. The owners put together this venue very well and it has a certain charm that makes it great for special events.
Music and Dancing
We really loved how the couple set up the reception. A great slideshow was prepared by the BM and projected on the ceiling of the tent during dinner. A great break in the action to see the lives and progression of their relationship. Additionally, rather than the typical clinking of the glasses, guests were invited to get up and sing songs with the word LOVE in it. This went better than other times I’ve tried it. We would play the music and they would supply the vocals. The groomsmen sang “You’ve Lost That Lovin Feelin”, a cute little girl sang “Love Shack” with her dad and brother, and a friend of the couple serenaded them with an Elvis tune while I accompanied on piano.
We sang and danced the night away. The barn theme even carried over to some of the music. We played some classic country hits that led some guests to some swing and square dancing, which was crazy fun to watch unfold. Guests had plenty of room to dance and sing to their heart’s content. After the dancing, we turned the place into the ‘piano barn’ for sing-alongs/ dance-alongs. Everyone ended the evening with a smile on their face and tired feet and voices from celebrating at a beautiful ceremony and reception at this Emily’s Ten Oaks Ranch Wedding.
