Felix and Fingers recently lucked out by getting to play a rustic wedding at The 4 Eleven. This has become one of the most popular venues in Fort Worth, Texas and it’s easy to see why. The food, the space, and especially the guests combined to make perhaps our favorite wedding of the year!

Rustic Wedding at The 4 Eleven on Historic South Main Street

The 4 Eleven is a renovated warehouse from the 1920s, fitting right in among the historic South Main Street of Fort Worth, Texas. A gorgeous mezzanine with a double staircase creates a second story complete with a garden patio. With its wide open space, dangling chandeliers, and ubiquitous greenery, it seems perfectly designed for weddings, but The 4 Eleven would be great for any event that could benefit from a bit of rustic charm. Which is to say any event! If you’d like to learn more about setting up your next special event at The 4 Eleven, click right here.

Stacy’s Mom-in-Law?

This was one of the first day weddings we’ve played in a while. All of that beautiful natural lighting provided by the huge windows illuminated the dance floor perfectly. Which was great, because one of the guests was a dance instructor for the world-famous TCU dance team! They taught us some great crowd dances from across the decades, including the monkey, the jerk, and the mashed potato. You know those’ll come in handy!

The most popular requested genre was easily Alterative Rock and, armed with their new dance moves, the audience got really into every song. Some of the stand outs were Blister in the Sun by the Violent Femmes, Inside Out by Eve 6, and Are You Going to be My Girl by Jet. Our favorite moment was when we played Fountains of Wayne’s Stacy’s Mom but everyone swapped “Stacy” for the groom’s name! We’ve never seen a deeper shade of red on a groom–or his mother!

The climax was, without a doubt, the Hava Nagila, where everyone lifted the bride and groom above them on chairs. They had so much fun, they went for three whole rounds!
