Felix and Fingers recently delighted in dueling at a SC school officials conference hosted by the South Carolina Association of School Business Officials (SCASBO). This event took place at the Hilton Myrtle Beach Resort (for information on this venue, please click here). SCASBO used this event to celebrate their vendors during their Myrtle Beach fall conference, giving them a time to relax and have fun after taking care of business.
SC School Officials Conference
The South Carolina Association of School Business Officials (SCASBO) is an organization whose mission is to provide professional development and networking for SC school officials (if you’d like to learn more about SCASBO, please click here). They host a fall conference with their vendors to ensure their schools run efficiently and effectively. This year SCASBO invited us to duel, and we loved it. The food was fabulous, the people were energetic and the setting was sublime. Because the hotel is located in the heart of the Myrtle Beach strip, Clayton, one of our pianists, went to see his partner perform the night before the conference at a local piano dueling bar. It was a great chance for him to experience the night life of Myrtle Beach and see his partner play in his home environment.
Let’s Do the Electric Slide
In addition to being located in the resort strip, the hotel is right on the beach. To honor this, the buffet spread consisted of seafood items such as shrimp, muscles and lobster. Of course, the buffet also featured corn bread, a southern staple. After everyone ate, we began taking requests. Throughout the night we received not one, not two, but three requests for Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars. Guests also requested many songs to line dance to, such as the Electric Slide by Marcia Griffiths. Everyone was on the dance floor for the entire night with all these great requests! In the end guests had a wonderful time and enjoyed showing off their moves.
