Fantastic Family Fun
Felix and Fingers love fantastic family fun gatherings! This was the first time Mike and Nick performed together. To be honest, it felt as if they had been playing together for a while. Nick did a great job of sharing his knowledge about how to set up and use the key drums. The key drums really added some extra pizzazz to our dueling piano show! We had a special guest at the keyboard for this gig. One of the littlest party-goers entertained everyone. In all honesty, it was so cute!
Getting to know the guests before you play makes a big difference. It breaks down a barrier between entertainer and guest, to tell the truth it lets the guests know that we are there for them, friendly and wanting them to have a good time. We played for a small but mighty group. If was fun getting to know a few of the characters there with lots of banter back and forth! We started the evening with Funky Cold Medina by Tone Loc. The people dancing to that song were awesome. How many times do people request Black Sabbath? At this party it was a frequent request! What is more, the slow jams are what got people on the dance floor. Everything about setup and load-in went super smooth. In fact, it was a fantastic family fun celebration!
