It was a beautiful night indeed at the Hewing Hotel Wedding. Felix and Fingers traveled to Minneapolis, Minnesota to play for the wedding of Courtney and Joshua. Congratulations to this lovely couple! It was a very special night.
The Hewing Hotel Wedding Venue
You can find the Hewing Hotel in the North Loop neighborhood of Minneapolis. This is a refurbished former farm implement warehouse and the original elements make it an especially unique venue. Exposed brick walls, super high ceilings, and exposed timber make it cozy and warm while the modern decor makes it refined and sophisticated. All of the food from this hotel is locally sourced from local farms and we have to say, it is delicious. Our performers claimed that it was one of the best wedding dinners they have ever had. And that is really something coming from Mike and Robert because these two have played for a ton of weddings. We started with a delicious winter squash soup, followed by a perfectly cooked rib eye. Our bride and groom do not like cake so they had the venue prepare a wedding tart. It was one of the most delicious wedding desserts we have had. So whether or not you’re looking for a venue, a place to stay, or a great restaurant for dinner, the Hewing Hotel has our highest recommendation.
Time for Another Dance Party
This crowd was clamoring for 90’s music so that is what we gave them. What is it about this decade and dance music? Really, we see some of the best dancing when we are asked to play a lot of 90’s tunes. Felix and Fingers were especially happy to use our new full size piano shells. They surely add a bit of sophistication to our show. Robert even stood on one during Billy Joel’s Piano Man. Our dueling piano show was a surprise for these wedding guests. They were expecting just our DJ show so it was fun for us to see their surprised faces when we began. Flagpole Sitta was on this couple’s must play list as was All the Small Things by Blink 182. We had an absolute blast entertaining this awesome crowd. They were a great audience with great participation. Their singing along and dancing never stopped. At the end of our show, the bride even cried a bit that it was over. That is a successful show indeed!
