If you can keep high school juniors and seniors off their phones for a while, you know you’re doing a great job. That’s what happened at the Tipton High School After Prom. These kids were so into our show they forgot about those phones and sang and danced instead.
Tipton High School After Prom
Felix and Fingers headed over to Tipton, Iowa to play for this great group of young people. This was an epic late night party for sure! Also, it was a sugar lover’s dream as there must have been every sweet treat available. We had a blast with this group not only with our show but also with all of the other activities that were going on. There was a plethora of things to do. For example, the kids had Super Mario Kart games, inflatable bounce houses, raffles, an I scream sundae buffet, a popcorn station and even a nacho station. There was a table for air brushed tattoos and also places to gamble like a black jack and roulette table. Don’t worry, they weren’t gambling with real money. The were using their raffle tickets with which they could win some awesome prizes at the end of the night.
We were quite impressed with these young people. They were super respectful, friendly, and just wanted to have a great time. And having a great time is what Felix and Fingers is all about! So it was a perfect fit even with all of the competing activities. The kids even had access to the basketball courts and a paint your own “non-wine” glass. With all that going on, you would think our dance floor would have been pretty light. But not with our show! Awesome Participation
The Tipton High School After Prom brought us an audience with super participation. We love that as our shows are interactive and full of fun things to do. One young man immediately had the crowd going wild by dropping to the floor and performing the worm. Another senior asked if he could sing so we played some Elvis and some Whitesnake and the other students went nuts. He was very talented indeed. Rock on young man!
We had to make sure we were up to date with our song selections with this young crowd. We did not disappoint when we played requests for Look Alive by Blocboy JB featuring Drake and The Weekend’s Call Out My Name. This crowd also wanted to hear some country music and loved our rendition of Justin Timberlake and Chris Stapleton’s Say Something. We couldn’t get over how much energy this group had. While we were packing up our equipment at 3:30 am, they were having a hot dog eating contest. Crazy!
