The echoing baritone of my favorite guest giving an amazing rendition of the classic Blue Christmas filled the room at Cedar Ridge Winery during the whimsical Silent Auction, Wine, and Whiskey Trees event. With his collar popped and a soulful Elvis impression, he was easily the highlight of the evening while helping spread a bit of holiday spirit into the festivities of the night.
Though this was not our first time playing this venue, it was our first time performing inside the winery. The perfectly set round tables were adorned with the vibrant red of poinsettia and the deep black of the napkins and chairs. Open shelving exposed Cedar Ridge’s products and a wooden bar highlighted their selections.
Raising Money For Women’s Council Scholarship Fund
The silent auction had large baskets filled with goodies donated by sponsors in support of the Women’s Council Scholarship Fund. With all the good cheer in the air, we decided to donate all of our tips to this scholarship fund as well. Among the silent auction items was a brew your own beer kit. I couldn’t help but bid. Do you blame me?
The wine and whiskey were bountiful and the gracious venue donated several bottles each of their homemade creations. We were blown away by a number of people that came to show their support for this cause. The popularity was apparent as there were so many last minute reservations the venue nearly ran out of seating. A true tribute to how the community can really come together to help those in need.
As the rope lights hung from above illuminating the guests, I couldn’t help but be drawn to a group of women sitting in the back of the room. While we continued to play through the night this team of ladies began singing, dancing and having a ball. It was so magnificent to see them enjoying not only the tunes but each other.
The entire night was a true celebration of community. We are truly grateful to be part of such an incredible event and love that we were able to donate our tips to this amazing scholarship fund.
