Rhythm City Casino Milestone Party
Shortly after we finished setting up, guests arrived at Ruthie’s, one of the restaurants inside the casino, dressed to impress. One entire wall of the restaurant was glass, looking out onto the city. Soft purple lighting created a calm, open atmosphere. A circular bar stood at the center of the restaurant, and tables were arranged around it. The chairs were big, with cushions that felt like clouds. Seriously, clouds. They were so comfortable! Guests sat themselves and were served drinks by other employees. Once dinner was served, the guests enjoyed steak while we played classic bar hits. Everyone sang along as best they could through bites, keeping the mood light and energetic.
Sing Your Heart Out
As dinner finished, the managers announced the honorees and awarded them for their dedication to the casino. Some guests had worked five or ten years, others twenty, but one man beat them all. He worked there for thirty years, priding himself of great customer service and a positive attitude. After the award ceremony wrapped up, dessert was served, and we began another set.
For most of the events we play, the guests flood the dance floor with enthusiasm and a need to show off. At this event, we had a few dancers on our floor, and, to our delight, many guests sang along to the songs. They were enthusiastic and such a great crowd for us. A surprise hit of the night was Barbie Girl by Aqua. Male guests really got into the “Ken” parts of the song, and one man even took it upon himself to sing the “Barbie” parts, too!
