Felix and Fingers Dueling Pianos had the honor of playing at the VUE Rooftop Event for a 2017 New YearsCelebration. This venue recently opened in 2017 and has lots to offer the people and guests of Iowa City. They asked us to perform and be the source of music and the entertainment for the evening for this special event. VUE Rooftop Event – NYE Party
The VUE Rooftop Event hosted an awesome NYE party. This venue opened its doors in the fall of 2017.3. They had about 250+ people who bought tickets – The Hilton Garden Inn was packed for the countdown! We loved seeing a large crowd for the countdown to the new year. In this large crowd, however, we spotted two guys dressed up in the orange and blue suits from the movie “Dumb and Dumber”. This was cool on its own, and then one of the guys literally started shoot $1 bills out of a “money gun”. There was a shower of money…I’ve never seen anything like it. Danced Our Way to 2018
The majority of the crowd danced throughout the entire evening and the room had so much energy. We had requests for all sorts of songs that kept the crowd on their feet. One of our favorites that we got asked to play was “The Final Countdown”. We thought it was fitting for New Year’s Eve. On the more comical side of things, we had one guy ask us to play the University of Iowa fight song. His twenty dollar bills convinced us to do it about eight times. We all got a good laugh out of it and we had plenty of people very excited to hear that song played. All in all, the crowd was amazing. They danced and partied all night. A lot of them were investors in the new hotel, and they came to celebrate! We enjoyed dancing, singing, and partying our way to 2018 with this great group. As well, we are excited to come back to this bar and playing here every other Friday starting on January 19, 2018.
