Wedding season is underway as we travel to Davenport, IA to bring Dueling Pianos to the historic Hotel Blackhawk!  This venue screams class and sophistication as soon as you drive to the front door, showing off a masterful water/fire feature that rivals top luxury hotels.  The architecture and attention to detail are stunning and the restoration of piece of history stayed true to the original sense of elegance and style.  The ballroom area boasts high ceilings, mirrored walls, and carefully placed lighting to make you feel like the center of the universe on your wedding day.

Hotel Blackhawk Soars Above All

I would say that the coolest part of this ballroom was the dance floor. The area itself is raised high above the seating area overlooking everything the great room has to offer.  It gave the guests a perfect blend of dancing and mingling with friends and family when they needed to cool down for a minute.  Our bride and groom told us they would be on the dance floor all night, and they proved us right!  Everyone from the grandparents to the youngsters running in circles surrounded the guests of honor throughout the night showing their love and support.  The food served for dinner was some of the best I’ve ever had, and was all cooked by the bride’s brother!  The service was unparalleled and everyone at Hotel Blackhawk helped us to make this night a special one.

Social media is at its prime these days.  This wedding was our first chance to create something truly unique for the newlyweds to create memories to last: their very own Snapchat filter!  We at Felix And Fingers strive to do whatever we can to add a little ‘zing’ for our clients. So, we created a geofilter custom made for 1 night only, so everyone with the Snapchat app could fill their story with photos and videos of the amazing night they were having.

Our first ‘Snapchat’ Wedding!

Music, Dancing, and..Bowling?

No wedding would be complete without a super cool, unexpected after party.  As if Hotel Blackhawk didn’t already have enough to offer, they have a super swanky bowling alley right in their lower level!  Cosmic lights, loud music, and a fancy bar took the guests to a whole new level (literally) of fun and enjoyment.  Erica and Ian were gracious enough to invite us downstairs to bowl a few frames after we finished packing up for the night.  Granted I didn’t have my ball or my shoes but bowling in my socks proved to be the best strategy!  Hotel Blackhawk offers just about everything you would need when it comes to hosting the perfect wedding.  Learn about all of the services they provide by clicking HERE.
