For a casual reception party, it’s all about finding that perfect balance between understated elegance and fun.  The Comfort Suites reception party had an overall feel of laid back and effortless.   What is more, it was one of the more memorable events Felix and Fingers have performed at!

Comfort Suites Reception Party Burlington Iowa

Comfort Suites Reception PartyIf there is one thing Felix and Fingers have learned performing at events, is that you don’t need to go over-the-top to create a spectacular occasion.  In fact, the Comfort Suites reception party was definitely not a formal reception.  The bride and groom were married a few months prior to this event.  Hence, the non-formal reception party.  On the other hand, this all suite hotel is conveniently located off the highway and has all your needs covered.  Thus, a helpful and friendly staff will make sure your stay is comfortable while catering to all your needs. The Comfort Suites reception party was held in the hotel’s Stonegate Ballroom.  To begin with, simple cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages and sparkling champagne flowed as guests arrived.  Our performers had set up in the back and were ahead of the crowd playing background jazz.  Guests eventually requested songs such as Lotus Blossom by Duke Ellington and Once in a Lifetime by Keith Urban. These great hits set a relaxed vibe in the ballroom.  The bride and groom kept hors d’oeuvres deceptively simple.  An amazing catering team knew how to please with cucumber feta toasts and tasty goat cheese stuffed mushrooms.  Our favorite was the Chorizo, parsnip and olive bites, trust us, it was hard to stop at just one skewer!

Good Times and Happy People

Comfort Suites Reception PartyLet’s eat!  After a few loved filled speeches, a friendly photographer made rounds as everyone settled in.  Guests eventually enjoyed comfort food stations with delicious home-style options.  In fact, big pans of lasagna next to roasted chicken thighs in parsley and bacon had guests returning for seconds.  In all honesty, the lemon-dijon slaw was out of this world!  Keep in mind, there were no rules at the Comfort Suites reception party.  Therefore, guests were coming and going, enjoying an amazing dessert table and packing the dance floor all at the same time.  The desserts were YUMMY, in particular, the huge assortment of cheesecake bites!

Being this was a HUGE party (250 guests), our performers were excited to finally get the groove on the floor.  If guests didn’t show off their dance moves yet, they certainly could now.  Our performers made sure to bring everyone out strutting their stuff to songs such as Jessie’s Girl by Rick Springfield and Tik Tok by Ke$ha.  Above all, the bride and groom chose to stay to the end to make a grand exit.  Felix and Fingers put out a grand finale like no other.  We brought the crowd together in a circle around the bride and groom to sing Crazy Little Thing Called Love by Queen.  This fun loving crowd had a blast singing at the tops of their lungs!
