Don’t let this Mars Hill Yacht Club Party post fool you. While we give a lot of great advice and recommendations about various venues, this was actually a private backyard event. The neighbors that live in this subdivision affectionately call it “The Mars Hill Yacht Club.” There is not an actual Mars Hill Yacht Club at which you can host a party. That being said, this was one heck of a great time!

You might want to check out Niche.com listing about the Mars Hill neighborhood in Indianapolis, Indiana. If we could move here, we would because this is a super fun group of people. They border a lake and had all sorts of water toys and inflatable fun activities. There was even a 60 ft. Slip-N-Slide going down a hill and into the water. Our performer, Joanna, took a turn while Jake was performing Neil Diamond’s Sweet Caroline. She loved every second of it and claimed it was “So Good!”
We were using our wireless microphone and were able to take it directly out onto the dock and sing to the people floating in the water. They really seemed to love that. We also got pretty creative thinking up water themed song titles. We played P.J. Harvey’s Down By the Water, Splish Splash from Bobby Darin, and Frankie Ford’s Sea Cruise, among others. We were all having a blast down by the water and not only with our dueling pianos. Jake also brought along his guitar and did some awesome solos.
Craw-fish and Cowboy Caviar
Besides having a blast singing and dancing along the water, we also loved the food this group provided. We’ve never experienced a craw-fish boil so good and the cowboy caviar was awesome. That’s a dish with avocados, black beans, and a few other things that you eat with nacho chips. Good thing we were busy playing piano because that stuff was addicting. Felix and Fingers loves all types of parties but this private summer bash was definitely one to remember.
