It’s not too often that Felix plays in a horse arena but that’s what we did for the McHenry County 4H Fundraiser.  We loved heading out to the country to help raise money for the 4-H Youth Foundation.  They have so many great programs for the area’s young people. This is greatly needed when extracurricular options are not available elsewhere.

McHenry County 4H Fundraiser

There was a lot going on at the McHenry County 4H Fundraiser.  Table after table with great silent auction items kept people on their feet trying to out bid one another.  They had a live auction with a very comical auctioneer.  In addition, there were cash prizes and balloons with mystery prizes.  McHenry County 4H Fundraiser scheduleThe buffet set up was phenomenal and quite delicious.  With all of this competing for the audience’s attention, we were still able to keep this party going strong.  That’s what we do here at Felix and Fingers Dueling Pianos.  Click here if you would like to check out this great organization and see all they do for the local young people.

This fundraiser was in a huge barn, really huge.  The arena was a dirt floor but packed down for the tables and stage.  Well, sort of a stage.  It was actually a truck bed with a wooden stage built on top.  Definitely a unique venue and a great experience for our performers Jennifer and Jim.  We were impressed with how crafty these 4H kids were.  They had designed and made all of the decorations and they were just charming.  Our favorite was the little farm scenes under wine glasses that served as the centerpieces.  They were so cute and you could even purchase them to take home.  This group did an excellent job with their fundraiser and we couldn’t have had a better time.

Great Music Requests From Some Great Kids

McHenry County 4H Fundraiser centerpiecesWe had wonderful song requests at the McHenry County 4H Fundraiser.  Even the kids were getting in on the requests.  Since we were out in the country, we weren’t surprised to have a lot of country music requests.  We played Thomas Rhett’s Life Changes and One More Day by Diamond Rio.  One young boy named Luke kept us busy all night with his requests and even requested Christmas music.  He was hilarious.  His grandma even gave us a blue cowboy hat as a gift when they left.  This was a great energetic crowd and very, very fun.  Kids always have the best time, don’t they?!
