Stage Left in Woodstock Il played host to a graduation party, and for those instances where dueling pianos might be too much, we have the ability to cut the show in half!

Half of Dueling Pianos

Stage Left hosted a modified Felix and Fingers show for this particular event.  Being a Sunday graduation party, the event didn’t call for a full show, so we instead decided to quote out the show for a pianist/singer (me!) and a saxophonist.  After a couple hours of background jazz we transitioned into an all request show to get the guests involved.

Stage Left Cafe

Stage Left Cafe is, well, stage left of the Woodstock Opera House and has been a staple for live music in the area.  Hosting their weekly Jazz and Folk Jams (rotating fridays) and serving as a venue for the music festivals and events that come through the square, Stage Left Cafe is an important establishment in the heart of Woodstock.  If you’re unfamiliar with the Woodstock square, check out the movie Groundhog Day with Bill Murray!  Right, that movie was set in Pennsylvania, but filmed right here in Woodstock.

Groundhog Day

Stage Left cafe has a stage of its own backing up to the window overlooking the Woodstock Square, and a great selection of beverages to compliment the jazz club vibe.  The stage has a lovely upright Yamaha piano, which unlike most venue instruments, was very nice to play.  I’d love to play another show here simply because they have a decent piano available!

You can find the Stage Left cafe website here, or check out their Facebook Page.  The staff is super friendly as well 🙂

Private Event Entertainment – Customized!

Felix and Fingers specialize in private events of all types.  More specifically, we specialize in entertaining groups of people.  Whether it’s a corporate event for a bunch of executives, or in this case, a family party with a bunch of High School teens and parents, we know how to play to the crowd.  For 2 hours the party was singing, dancing, and laughing along with the tunes they were requesting.

Group Pic after the Party!

It’s customary for us to ask about “favorite tunes” while in the planning process.  The list for this event was likely the most eclectic I’d ever received.  The Graduate had chosen everything from Dean Martin to Frank Zappa, Plain White T’s to System of a Down.  And the first request of the night: Shakira’s “Hips don’t lie”.

But this is what makes our events fun.  We thrive in the unknown and off-the-cuff nature of our show.

Having an event in Woodstock?  At Stage Left Cafe?  And you want to have a great time?  Put Felix and Fingers in this great venue and see what happens.  I for one can’t wait to be back!  Give us a call or send us an email from here!
