Nothing says summertime romance more than exchanging vows surrounded by butterflies and loved ones in an outdoor garden. The Wilder Park wedding ceremony was located in Elmhurst, Illinois. Felix and Fingers were hired to play only the ceremony as there was no reception with this event. That’s the beauty of our dueling piano show is that we are available for both ceremony and/or reception. Our show options are endless to make sure you experience a perfect day!

Wilder Park Wedding Ceremony Elmhurst

Wilder Park Wedding CeremonyThe Wilder Park Formal Garden is owned and operated by the Elmhurst Park District. This formal garden consists of perennial beds, stunning herb gardens, paved walkways and seasonal displays. Furthermore, there is an exquisite sunken ceremony garden for up to 130 guests. Our performer for the Wilder Park Wedding Ceremony was Duncan Parker. Duncan set up outside the tent and ran his speaker to the front, for better sound direction. Garden weddings in Wilder Park are available each year between the months of May and October, on Friday evenings and weekends. Classic elegance and earthy charm came together at the Wilder Park Wedding Ceremony. The bride and groom chose an intimate wedding, mostly family with a few friends. It was sweet to see the bride and groom’s children as the bridesmaid and groomsman. Duncan welcomed guest with a variety of light prelude music. Songs such as One Hand, One Heart by Leonard Bernstein and Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Harold Arlen played in the background as guests found their seats. Did we mention we were lucky with the weather? 80 degrees with a light breeze on a beautiful day in August.

A Cheeky and Fun Day

Wilder Park Wedding CeremonyTo start with, Duncan had a blast playing Ribbon in the Sky by Stevie Wonder as the bride and groom’s children walked down the aisle. Our rule of thumb is to play a song not too fast and not too slow. Something that can accommodate the natural step of the wedding party. Duncan also performed Canon in D by Pachelbel, setting a natural walking pace for the youngsters. It was adorable! After the children had taken their places, we had a brief pause before the bride’s entrance. Eventually, all of the guests stood and with a bit of drama, Duncan performed an amazing version of Air by Handle as the bride made her entrance. It was indeed a beautiful moment.

As the ceremony transitioned from one portion to another, the bride had her best friend sing a beautiful interlude song. Not a dry eye in the tent when her friend finished singing Ave Maria by Shubert. Now that the bride and groom were married it was time to celebrate. Felix and Fingers love to play celebration songs. Duncan was feeling a bit cheeky and humorous so he took advantage of the bride’s song list and played Another One Bite’s the Dust by Queen for the recessional song. The crowd LOVED IT!

With guests lingering after the ceremony, Duncan played a variety of postlude songs bringing a celebratory feel to the after party. For example, Beautiful Day by U2 and Happy by Pharrell Williams were a hit with the crowd. Above all, it was awesome to have guests stop and let us know we are amazing!
