Rockford, Illinois was the location of our recent Forest Hills Fundraiser. This event was titled the Crusader Crush and its purpose was to raise money for the wonderful Holy Family Catholic School. Fundraisers are a Felix and Fingers specialty. We know how to brings those dollars home!
Forest Hills Fundraiser Venue
First of all, let’s talk about the venue. The Forest Hills Country Club in Rockford, Illinois is beautiful. We found the service to be excellent and the space was perfect for our event. The cuisine was quite scrumptious as well. With flatbread pizzas to die for, exquisite charcuterie boards, and a divine dessert table, no one went home hungry. Even more, membership is not required to host an event at this gorgeous location. With views of the rolling greens, who wouldn’t want to have a gala in one of their lovely banquet rooms. Next, let’s talk about Holy Family Catholic School. This was an adult event, so we weren’t able to meet any of the students. We could tell, however, how dedicated the staff and parents are to these kids by how much effort they put into this Forest Hills Fundraiser–The Crusader Crush! A Night for the Nineties
What a blast we had playing for this crew. First of all, we were able to show off our Presto Piano Shells. These are made in-house by yours truly, Felix and Fingers, and add a special elegant touch to any piano gig. But mostly, this group was so much fun. All they wanted to do was dance and we were more than happy to oblige.
Nineties throwbacks were the hit of the night. Say My Name from Destiny’s Child had the moms making some pretty awesome moves. We even had a request for Livin’ La Vida Loca by Ricky Martin. It’s been a bit since we’ve had that one. We slowed it down for Boyz II Men’s End of the Road and had all the couples swaying. And of course, since everyone was on a nineties binge, we had to play Closing Time by Semisonic for our last song of the night.

Between the silent auction, the live auction, and Felix donating our tip jar, we helped raise a ton of money at this Forest Hills Fundraiser. The Crusader Crush was a blast!
