It was off to Peoria, Illinois for Felix and Fingers performers Will and Michael to play for the Itoo Society Fundraiser Shish-Ka-Bob day. Whenever you have great friends, delicious Lebanese food, and awesome entertainment, you know it’s going to be a perfect day–and it was.
Itoo Society Fundraiser Venue and Organization
The Itoo Society is a charitable organization that has been in Peoria since 1914. Its initial intent was to aid Lebanese immigrants but has since expanded to include the entire central Illinois region. They help organizations such as St. Jude Midwest Affiliate, the American Red Cross, and the Heart of Illinois Down Syndrome Association. Additionally, they are active with many activities for veterans. We truly enjoy working with this group at their banquet hall on Farmington Road. You’ve never met such a nice group of people. This Shish-Ka-Bob dinner has been going strong for decades. It includes a beef or chicken kabob, cabbage rolls, Lebanese salad, and pita bread. There is even baklava for dessert. Delicious! They Couldn’t Stump Us
Our top performer, Michael, prides himself on being able to play almost anything. He challenged this group to come up with something he, or Will, couldn’t play. Guess what. Our guys played each and every request this group could think of and more. Thrift Shop by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis? Seriously? That’s so easy. New Order’s Blue Monday? Yep, they had that one too. The little ones in the crowd were throwing out Disney request after request thinking our guys wouldn’t know all the kids songs. Little did they know, we are Disney experts! Country songs were very popular and we knew the oldies as well as the newer ones. Mama Tried by Merle Haggard made an appearance as did Taylor Swift’s Shake it Off. It was a wonderful time with the Itoo Society Fundraiser Shish-Ka-Bob Day and we can’t wait for another one.
