Felix and Fingers recently dueled for an Illinois Young Farm Leader Conference held in East Peoria, IL. Guests ranged in age from 18 to 35. Hosted at the Embassy Suites by Hilton East Peoria Riverfront Hotel, guests had a marvelous view of the river as they moved from speaker to speaker. Illinois Young Farm Leader Conference
The Illinois Farm Bureau loves to support their young members, and this conference gives them an entire day to show them the ropes of running a farm these days. In a large, spacious banquet hall, leaders showed off new equipment and modern techniques between speakers. The speakers talked about their own experiences and gave advice on what to do in certain situations the young members may encounter. Once the speakers finished, dinner was served, and a big dessert table was set up. Of course, we went right for the desserts: coconut creme pie, cheesecake, several varieties of chocolate cake… Everyone was in heaven!
A Comedian and Some Dueling
After dinner and dessert, Chad Prather, a social-media-famous comedian, performed. The crowd roared in laughter throughout his monologue. Once he finished, we took the stage. We began our set and immediately guests rushed to the dance floor. Surprisingly, not a lot of country songs were requested, but these guests weren’t afraid to request anything and everything from Eminem to Lady Gaga. We wound up playing Party in the USA by Miley Cyrus twice because the crowd’s energy rose so much during our first time playing it.
Everyone seemed to have a fun and educational time, and we hope to be invited back next year!
