It was off to the St. Jude Catholic Church in Peoria, Illinois for this 50th Anniversary Celebration. What a wonderful day celebrating the long marriage of this lovely couple!
50th Anniversary Celebration
The modern addition to the St. Jude Catholic Church was perfect for this party. It is a spacious venue well-suited for many needs. It was mainly family, close friends, and their close church family at our couple’s celebration. The church hall is spacious and well appointed. Second First Dance
So fifty years after their first dance as a married couple, our “bride and groom” had another first dance. But this dance also included some others. First, they began alone. Next, they called up their children and spouses followed by grandchildren. After their immediate family, they included extended family and finally everyone was on the dance floor for this second “first dance.” We loved that idea and hope to see it again someday. In addition to the first dance, the couple’s speeches and those of their children were especially touching. We were in awe of their incredible marriage and of how much influence their marriage has had on their lives as well as the lives of their children and friends.
Were you thinking that this might have been a subdued affair because it was held in a church? Well not this 50th anniversary celebration! Our hosts brought in a wonderful catered meal and also had a full bar. We weren’t really expecting the dance floor to be packed at a church function but this group had a wonderful time dancing and singing along throughout the whole party. We have a blast at our events and this was no exception.
