The location itself was a treasure mine of oddball artifacts, adorned with plush animals, vintage signs, and a jovial mayor. Furthermore, the mayor even received a passionate Happy Birthday song from the audience. Hence, adding to the joyful ambiance.
An adjacent Oakford Festus, a two-day music, beverages, and grub celebration contributed to our gig. As a result, everyone’s enthusiasm increased, fueled by the infectious festival spirit now permeating the venue. Small-Town Spirits, Music, and Laughter Alongside Felix!
Our night’s two brilliant pianists, T. Duncan Parker, and Eric Ronquillo, set up their grand pianos on a trailer. Because of this positioning, everyone received the ideal vantage point to see and hear our show. With such thoughtfully arranged seating and staging, guests could fully immerse themselves in the experience.
Our player’s mouths started to water as they noticed the yummy fish sandwiches. Can we just say these fish sandwiches were out of this world? Even more, the bar served a dizzying variety of beverages. An excellent small-town variety surprise indeed.
Oh, the music as well! By simply playing House of the Rising Sun by Smokey Robinson, the Eagles, and AC/DC our show was a hit. Felix combined the genres Sing Along by Sturgill Simpson before swinging into Shania Twain’s You’re Still The One. In fact, this mash-up turned out to be the highlight of our Oakford Trading Post Dueling Pianos Festival!
