Felix and Fingers took off for Kankakee, Illinois to play at Sara and Kyle’s Majestic Theater Wedding.  And what a great time it was!

Majestic Theater Wedding

Majestic Theater Wedding stageThe Majestic Theater in Kankakee is a totally renovated space that was once a live music and theater venue.  Our favorite was playing on their wonderful stage, the height of which gave everyone a perfect view.  This theater was built in 1912 and had a great few years hosting all of the popular Vaudeville acts of the time.  With the rise of film, the Vaudeville days were numbered so this historic venue changed to a movie theater and finally closed in 1990.

Currently, you will find a gorgeously refurbished space that still holds true to its early 20th century roots.  And now it is able to host all kinds of events.  Everything from corporate meetings, weddings, concerts, and even proms will find this to be a great venue with so much to offer.  The staff was impressive here as well. They were incredibly helpful and professional.  We found this to be a superb venue revitalizing downtown Kankakee in a magnificent way.  Click here to be directed to their website.  We’re sure you’ll love it!

What Happened in Vegas Did Not Stay in Vegas

Our wedding couple had said their vows three weeks prior in Las Vegas.  So this was the big party for all of the friends and family members.  After dinner, everyone enjoyed a slide show and video of the actual wedding.  A nice touch we thought.  Following dinner, we began our dueling pianos and the fun didn’t stop.  We thought it was great that the bride Majestic Theater Wedding couplechanged halfway through from her long gown to a short white dress that was perfect for dancing.

And dance she did!  Along with her husband, of course, but also with a ton of her friends.  They had so many great requests that we felt like we could have played forever.  We especially liked some of the 80’s hits like Michael Jackson’s Billy Jean and Gloria Estefan’s Get On Your Feet.  Those will always get people to head out to the dance floor.  The romantic songs we played were also a hit.  It seemed everyone was in a mood to slow dance for a while.  Have I Told You Lately by Van Morrison had everyone swaying with their special someones.  It was then back to the faster dancing as we played some Lady Gaga and Beyonce.  So much fun all night!
