Ajinomoto Holiday Dinner speakerThe Westin Lombard Yorktown Center was the setting for the Ajinomoto Holiday Dinner and it was just fabulous.  The venue was awesome.  Also, our performer, Greg, was in heaven revisiting his Japanese connections.

Ajinomoto Holiday Dinner Venue

This was a repeat gig for our performers James and Greg.  Last year, they played for the company’s Iowa branch and were very excited to play for their Chicago hub.  We do quite a few corporate events and love them.  One of the most important things for a successful event, besides your entertainment, is the food.  We have to say that the Westin Lombard Yorktown Center provided an excellent dinner and service.  For starters, we tried the rare beef en croute that was out of this world.  There was also a potato and leek soup that was superb as well as pasta and carving stations.  James reported that he was in heaven over the quality of the food.  If you’re planning an event, please click here to view the Westin Lombard Yorktown Center.  We highly recommend it.

Ajinomoto Holiday Dinner say cheeseA Japanese Celebration

Greg spent ten years living in Japan and really misses it.  So being able to perform for a Japanese company and then speaking and sharing a drink with them after the show was just perfect.  He even sang a couple of songs in Japanese as a show of respect for the culture and language.  He did pretty well with Itoshi No Ellie.  Tsuki To Naifu was a bit more difficult for him but he still did a great job.  Greg is already preparing for their return next year.  We’ll have to see if he can add even more to his Japanese repertoire.  All in all, it was really a special evening that was only enhanced by the relationship of our cultures connected through music.

Ajinomoto Holiday Dinner crowdWe made sure to throw in some American traditions as well.  They loved doing the wave.  We had to teach the concept but they all stood up at the right time!  We also taught them our letter game as there hadn’t been time for that last year.  The whole night was an incredible success.  Someday soon, we hope to be the first company to bring dueling pianos to Japan in a big way.  How cool would that be?!
