Felix and Fingers played for a packed house at this Kishwaukee United Way Fundraiser. We raised over $500 to donate back to the cause. It was a great crowd. They stayed the entire night and had a blast dancing, singing, and most of all, raising money for United Way.
Kishwaukee United Way Fundraiser
The Kishwaukee United Way fundraiser took place in the back room at Fatty’s in Dekalb, Illinois. Fatty’s is a great venue for an event such as this. The service was great and the food was awesome. Our performer, Mike, was told he should try the potato salad. It was basically fried potatoes, covered in a tangy sauce, with bacon. The purpose of this event was to raise money for the Kishwaukee United Way. Afterward, our performers got to chat with some of the team from United Way and they do amazing things for the community! They support 22 different local organizations. It is amazing how many volunteers they get from the local community and everybody’s willingness to help. Now The Fun
The requests kept coming all night long for our performers; everything from classic rock to the current top 40’s. One of our favorite requests was when we were asked to play anything by Rick Springfield that wasn’t Jesse’s Girl. Seriously, does he have any other songs?! Of course he does and we played one or two. Love Somebody was one choice. It is not as well known of a song, but of course it was still a fun song to dance to. The party went all night long at this Kishwaukee United Way Fundraiser. We loved the spirit that everyone brought to the event. The organizers even had plastic cups with our logo on them. We have to admit that this made us feel pretty famous and special. Thanks for that!
