Nestled in the heart of their community, Felix and Fingers performed a public event for the Del Webb Sun City adult living center in Huntley, Illinois. Del Webb Sun City Performance
This facility had an auditorium with many rows of chairs set up so people could come and go. We performed up on the stage. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout the event. Since this was the day after Halloween, Mike and I thought it would be appropriate to wear themed suits. I wore a suit with a bright leopard print jacket and Mike wore an entire suit with 60’s era comic book and TV show phrases. Many guests complimented our bright attire. Every single person that came from within the community engaged themselves in our show the whole night, clapping and singing along. As always, we had a variety of requests that kept the night moving and grooving.
Play That Funky Music
During our shows, we play a variety of songs and as well we will play games to engage with our audience as well. During this performance at Del Webb Sun City, we had a cowbell competition. Later, for our cowbell competition, we brought up two ladies from the company Alden, who sponsored this event. Ironically, one of the ladies had her arm in a cast so I had to hold the cowbell for her. This led to some interesting dance moves and a ton of laughs.
During the event, we played a beautiful rendition of “A Whole New World” from Disney’s Aladdin where one of us sang the guy part and the other sang the girl part. Everyone laughed and sang along throughout our song. Even after we left the stage after our “last song,” the crowd kept cheering and eventually we came back out for an encore song to end the night. These old folks loved everything about us and we loved providing them with great music and entertainment.
