We performed for Dave’s 50th Surprise Birthday Party, a private event in Palatine, Illinois played recently in the client’s home. Dave’s 50th Surprise Birthday Party
This event was set up by the client’s wife, as a surprise for her husband. Everyone arrived and set up everything well in advance to Dave’s arrival. His wife moved all of her furniture out of the living room and rented high boys and extra seating. The room looked very professional and they set up a full bar in the corner. We timed the surprise about forty-five minutes after the party started to assure all the guests were ready for Dave to get there. The look on Dave’s face as he entered his house was priceless. He had no idea we would all be there!
To start, I played some more quiet stuff by request as he greeted everyone, and then made my way into full-on requests. We had some huge sing-a-longs as well throughout the night. Solo set up with a shell, looked really excellent. The highlight of the night was playing the full version of Stairway to Heaven which you never get to do unless you’re surrounded by old people who want to sing along and watch a show! Love that tune! We always enjoy getting the crowd involved in singing or dancing along to our songs as much as possible. We had a blast that evening and we hope the guests did too!
