Felix and Fingers had the honor of playing at the Conscious Cup Special Olympics fundraiser recently. The Conscious Cup is a small batch coffee roaster with specialty coffee shops in the area. They go out of their way to only buy “socially and environmentally sustainable” coffee and to give back to the community. It’s no surprise that they organized this event to help the Special Olympics. Conscious Cup Special Olympics Fundraiser
For this event, Conscious Cup teamed up with Crystal Lake Brewing so there was plenty of amazing coffee and craft beer to go around. They even collaborated on special a coffee stout for the occasion! However, it was such a hit that it might become a staple at the brewery. Once everyone had their drink of choice, we were introduced to a few local athletes who shared their stories of how the Special Olympics helped them and their loved ones. They were truly inspiring and kindhearted people all around.
We Are The Champions!
Make no mistake, the Conscious Cup Special Olympics fundraiser was far from a somber event. Everyone was there to help a worthy cause AND have some fun! We had some great requests that night. The most popular were sports related. Cake’s Going the Distance and Survivor’s Eye of the Tiger got huge responses. The high point of the night was when the whole room joined in to sing and stomp along to We Will Rock You directly followed by We Are the Champions. And, who doesn’t like back to back Queen?
