The Coal City Park Board and it’s wonderful sponsors hired Felix and Fingers to perform at the Coal City Outdoor Community Event located in Coal City, Illinois. Our players for this family oriented event were Will O’Keefe and Brenner Campos. As a matter of fact, our amazing finger blazin’ entertainers brought dueling piano entertainment at its best to the Campbell Memorial Park for an all ages show!

The Coal City outdoor community event was a super cool show. Will and Brennen set up in a large gazebo, and the lawn around them was packed with families in folding chairs. The vibe was electric. Everyone was ready to sing, dance and most of all, have FUN!
Felix and Fingers would like to thank the Coal City Park Board and it’s sponsors for giving us the opportunity to perform for this fun loving crowd. Coal City is a quaint town with a suburban feel and is located in Grundy County, IL. To begin with, our performers were met with warm smiles and friendly waves from the locals awaiting the Coal City outdoor community event. Not only was it a beautiful summer day, but there was a perfect breeze keeping everyone nice and cool.
This was the first time Will O’Keefe performed with our companies newest addition Brenner and they had an absolute blast! Brenner’s vocal range is amazing. This enabled him to perform a variety of outstanding high note songs. He hit every note SPOT ON. For example, Brennen had the crowd on their feet dancing and singing to Lady Marmalade by Christina Aguilera, Pink, Lil’ Kim and Mýa. When the high notes came around, the crowd let him take center stage and he nailed every single note…perfectly!
A Super Fun All Ages Show
Live music is, by nature, ephemeral. All that’s needed is a power supply, a space for us to play, and a place for the audience—meaning live music can happen most anywhere. Not only were there tons of kids dancing in grass, but they were all around the gazebo. We played songs like Baby Shark and Old McDonald Had a Farm. Watching the kids have a blast had our performers smiling from ear to ear.
At one point of our show, a young girl requested If It Ain’t Love by Jason Derulo. In fact, she wrote on her request if we played it, she would “hiplet”. We were so excited to see what was in store with this new type of ballerina hip-hop dancing. As we began to play the song, the young girl got up and executed some sweet “hiplet” moves. This performance had the entire audience applaud her superb creativity. In all honesty, we thought she was AMAZING!
Felix and Fingers LOVE interacting with their audience. Therefore, Will and Brenner had fun splitting the crowd into two sides, having them “compete” to see who was the loudest throughout the evening. This brought out friendly competition with our audience really getting into it! To tell the truth, Girl On Fire by Alicia Keys really set a wholesome spark on fire with our audience. It sounded like a perfect sing off at the Coal City outdoor community event!
On the other hand, a table of four next to the gazebo literally sang EVERY SONG of the night at the top of their lungs. Hence, they were referenced as “the example” for singing MVP’s of the night. This fun table crowd was full of energy sticking around to the very end thanking us for a GREAT TIME. Above all, our favorite crowd respondent song had to go to Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. The field and it’s singers ended up being LOUDER than our speakers!
