Would you like to see your event set in a vintage marquee at Chicago’s first one-screen theater venue? Specifically known as the Alvin Theater since 1913, Felix and Fingers were dazzled performing for the Shapiro Ballroom Wedding. Located in Chicago, Illinois, this hidden gem is close to Ukrainian Village and is perfect for any event.
A Beautiful Shapiro Ballroom Wedding
Congratulations Katherine and Chris! Felix and Fingers could not have been happier performing for the Shapiro Ballroom Wedding. The performers for this wedding event were Brittany and Mike. We loved seeing the bride and groom put a spin on the unique use of the Shapiro Ballroom space. The Shapiro Ballroom boasts 20 foot ceilings, an outdoor vintage marquee sign and a spacious open layout. While we have performed at tons of weddings, perhaps this event stood out for it’s creativity. Guests gathered in the stunning ballroom for a beautiful, in-the-round- ceremony. To illustrate, guests were seated in two semi-circles encompassing the bride and groom as they exchanged their vows. During cocktail hour, the wonderful Shapiro Ballroom staff amazed us with managing to flip the entire room from ceremony to dinner tables in under an hour. Once the tables were set, guests enjoyed a delicious dinner of tacos and tamales. In fact, the staff did an amazing job of setting up a donut station for dessert. Besides donuts hanging on a rack above the dessert table, sweet rolls and cupcakes were a hit among the guests. Indeed a sweet treat for all the guests!
Dance Lessons and More
You know the bride and groom are serious about their first dance when you find out they had it choreographed. Once you book your wedding with the Shapiro Ballroom, a choreographer will offer you lessons for your special dance. What a great treat for your big day! All the guests had a fabulous time enjoying Felix and Fingers perform throughout the evening. A fun loving and party crowd filled up the dance floor quickly. One of the highlights of the evening was a friend of the bride and groom that came up to sing a traditional Mexican wedding song. He was amazing, the crowd clapped and cheered him on throughout his performance. Since the groom was a huge Miles Davis fan, we made sure to cover all his popular songs such as Blue in Green, Bye Bye Blackbird and Milestones.
Certainly performing for a wedding is fun, but by all means playing for a unique wedding makes it awesome! Felix and Fingers had an amazing time at the Shapiro Ballroom Wedding.
