Felix and Fingers LOVES playing in our hometown of Chicago, Illinois. And Blick Art Materials did it up right with their Ivy Room Holiday Party. This venue in the River North area is near just about everything you could want when you’re downtown and is a supreme banquet venue.
The Ivy Room Holiday Party
To begin the Ivy Room Holiday Party, we played music during cocktails in the downstairs lounge. We then moved upstairs to the gorgeous and well decorated ballroom. You will want to click here to find out more about this event venue. It is a great find in downtown Chicago and your guests will be raving about all it has to offer. We found the staff to be excellent and the food was divine. It’s an historic venue but the modern amenities make it just perfect. The perfect mix of up to date finishing and vintage charm makes this venue a dream and it’s prime location just adds to its desirability. Our pianos fit perfectly in the space too. We are compact, but with our piano shells, we are a professional looking sight to see. We really draw people’s attention and the Ivy Room just added to our impressiveness. In all honesty, we just loved it.
Blick Art Materials Kicks Off the Start of a Great New Year
It may have been January but the spirit of these coworkers made it seem like we were at the height of the holiday season. January is a great time for corporate holiday parties. It gives your employees something to look forward to in January. People have more time without the stress of the holiday season. And most importantly, it extends Felix and Fingers busy season! Yes, December is HUGE for us. We are non-stop piano dueling maestros with all of our holiday parties and weddings. So it’s great that we can take a breather but still celebrate throughout the quieter month of January. And this group was certainly in the mood to celebrate!
What a great way to start off the year with your staff! This crowd was ready to rock and roll and they loved that we were there to help them do just that. We started with some great requests for heavy metal and classical music. Art suppliers have some eclectic tastes, that’s for sure. It’s not very often that we find ourselves playing Metallica and Iron Maiden followed by Arabesque by Nicole Anastasopoulos. We had some great classic rock thrown in there as well with AC/DC’s Thunderstruck and The Rolling Stone’s Satisfaction. And talk about eclectic tastes? We even had some great country music requests with The Dixie Chick’s Cowboy Take Me Away. It was an awesome night at the Ivy Room Holiday
