The Virginia Theater Corporate Awards Show was a fantastic event in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. This was for the 2019 Busey Annual Associates’ Meeting and over 1000 employees from across the country attended. Part dueling piano show, part awards show, and part street fest; this was all out show stopping event not to be missed.
Virginia Theater Corporate Awards Show Venue
Felix loves an old theater! Dating from 1921, the Virginia Theater was originally a Vaudeville theater and movie palace. Now fully restored and run by the local park district, this historic venue is a vibrant community center. Seating 1463, it hosts concerts, stage plays, dance, spoken word, children’s events, films, comedy, private parties, corporate events, the Roger Ebert’s Film Festival, and more. Expertly Planned Event
We have to give a huge shout out to the event planners who organized this Virginia Theater Corporate Awards Show for Busey Banks. Everything ran like clockwork. In fact, we even had two rehearsals before the big event to make sure all would go as planned. This was one top notch professionally run event, that is for sure. For starters, we began the day with a street fest outside the theater. There was a DJ and amazing food from Michael’s Catering. Click here to learn more about Michael’s. If you need catering in the area, we highly recommend this one. Not only was the food delicious, we felt the staff went above and beyond making sure all was perfect.
Following the street festival, we took the stage inside the Virginia Theater for an all request, one hour, dueling piano show. It was one hopping good time as request after request found their way up to our pianos. We played all kinds of great hits. A couple of our favorites were Locomotion by Grand Funk Railroad and Shania Twain’s Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under. It had been a while since we had those requests and we always like going back a bit in time.
Awards Ceremony
Next came the awards show. Felix and Fingers served as live musicians throughout this portion of the evening. We provided high energy entrance and exit music for each recipient. Each award winner had their own special song, chosen just for them. It was totally cool. Part corporate event and part 
theater show, the Virginia Theater Corporate Awards Show was a fantastic night all around. And we must say, there were some fantastic prizes as well. Busey Banks handed out dozens of really great items including KitchenAid mixers, Yeti coolers, iPads, and more! Everyone had such a great time and we did too!
