Two Brothers Roundhouse Wedding
So we played just played a wedding reception at the Two Brothers Roundhouse brewery in Aurora, IL! Holy cow. First off, the cake alone was enough to make the night a success. Just look at it!
Second, even if there wasn’t an amazingly realistic tree-stump cake to ooh and aah over, there still would have been Felix and Fingers, Dueling Pianos! Eh? Eh?
We started off the night as we do with most weddings, with some classic Sinatra tunes with Fingers on the keys and myself on vocals. This never gets old. Seriously. I’m often just looking around the room pinching myself to make sure this is reality. I do this for my job?! At a brewery?! AND there’s tree-stump cake?!?! Sheesh. Punch me in the mouth if you ever hear me complain about my job.
I have to say, this was an exceptionally fun audience to kick off the wedding season with. It’s like we couldn’t do anything wrong. Every song we was a hit! The crowd was singing all the right parts, dancing to every song, and responding to all our crazy jokes (by ‘jokes,’ I mean stupid yet funny banter which Fingers and sometimes dabble in…by ‘sometimes,’ I mean after every song.)
We also had one of our craziest cowbell competitions to date. That’s all I’m saying. Ask me about it sometime. I probably won’t remember, but I’ll be like “You read that blog post?!” and you’ll be like “Heck yeah!! I LOVE blogs!!” That will be awesome.
