I love a good birthday party.
Especially when that party is a decked out 60th birthday party (like, to the nines), that hires Felix and Fingers for the event! Even without the roasted rack of lamb appetizers and ice sculpture martini luge, it would have been smashing. It was all very Gatsby-ish, thanks to the Aurora Country Club. Seriously, this place knows how to host a good party. Everything looked amazing, the staff was very professional, and the food was killer.
The birthday boy in question was turning 60 and had invited all his friends for a night to remember. Another perk was the fact that we were able to bring a drummer with, which always kicks things up a notch. We also rolled in with our sleek, snazzy, blue piano shells (Yes! You can request additional players AND piano shells for your event!). Of course, we started things off with a bit of jazz and played it by ear until the guests looked like they were finishing up with drinks and appetizers (which, did I mention, were amazing?). Jazz is the warmup, but it’s often people’s favorite part of the event. Not that the dueling pianos portion of the show doesn’t rock. It’s just apples and oranges. Some people like the apples. Like…jazz apples.
Themed Rooms at Aurora Country Club
One cool thing about this party was the fact that you couldn’t wander anywhere that didn’t have something for you. Obviously, in the main room, there was us getting everyone out on the dance floor having a great time, but there were also lots of different rooms with killer decor, a bar, a food station, desert, you name it. Everywhere you went was had a theme that was contributing to the overall feel of a party well put-on.
